#Lazyweb: Does 4g connectivity drain a battery faster? Is there a reason one way or another that I would it on/off all the time?
-
I’ve heard many reports that 4G cuts battery life. Using an overclocking app to drop clock speed when the phone is idle helps some.
-
The reason to keep 4G on is it’s faster. You’ll have to decide if that’s important or not.

I’m upgrading to a 4G phone in a few weeks. I’ll probably turn it off often because I’m usually near secure wiki.

@gomerx I have a ‘4G’ phone, and its always off, since we don’t have ‘4G’ towers here :(
-
Cincinnati was one of the first 4G markets, so I hear reception is good here. Still, I currently have a 150 meg data plan. :)

I was so excited about this, and then I realized you probably meant secure wifi, ne? I was like, “What is secure wiki, and how does it replace 4G?!” _

I worked in Kansas City for two months. Great 4G almost everywhere in both states, but I kept it off most of the time to save battery.

Yes, I did mean ‘wifi.’ I noticed the hilarious typo just a few seconds too late. :)
